How to play

There are two players. Each player has 15 pieces of different colours. The pieces are moved in turns using two dice.

The starting position of the pieces is called the "head". Only one piece can be moved from the head at a time, except on the first throw.

The first player is determined by rolling the dice. The player with the higher number goes first. If the numbers are the same, the dice are re-rolled.

The player's moves are based on the roll of the two dice.

The player must move two pieces by as many points as there are pips on each die, or make two moves with one piece. If both dice have the same number of pips, the move counts double and the player must make four moves. A piece may not be moved to a point occupied by an opposing piece.

If it is not possible to make a legal move, the move is forfeited, but if a move is possible, the player must make it, even if it is detrimental If two moves are possible, the player must use both dice.
