Vampires usually hide from the sun, but here you stand your ground against relentless hunters at the gates. Crimson Citadel blends match-3 mechanics with intense tower defense to keep your brain working as hard as your defenses. You spend your nights swapping tiles on a grid to summon gargoyles, thorns, or mortar-firing ash urns. Lining up identical structures allows them to evolve through four distinct tiers, reaching the powerful Crimson level for maximum damage. Managing your limited blood supply dictates every tactical decision, forcing you to prioritize essential movements before dawn breaks. Once the sun rises, your built-up defenses automatically fire upon the incoming Order of Dawn to protect your hearts. Surviving the Herald every tenth night requires careful planning and efficient board management. Jump into this dark strategy experience right in your browser without any downloads required.
Night is your turn. You get 5 blood drops per night, and each move costs one. Use touch or the mouse.
• Drag a tile onto a neighbouring cell to swap them. Three identical tiles in a row become a building.
• Three identical buildings in a row merge into one of a higher tier. There are four tiers.
• Buildings can be moved too — put them where they are needed most.
• Four or more in a row give blood back.
• Tap a chalice to drink it and get more moves.
• Drag a tile you don't need off the edge of the board to throw it away.
• Drag a gargoyle from a top corner up into the wall: it takes a castle tower.
• The arrow button undoes a move and returns the blood.
• Hold your finger on a building to see what it does.
When the blood runs out, dawn comes. Hunters march from below to the gate, and buildings fire on their own. Each one that reaches the gate takes a heart. Out of hearts — the citadel falls.
Every tenth night the Herald comes — have your strongest buildings ready.
Strategy enthusiasts who enjoy tactical grid management and gothic aesthetics will find a challenge here. Fans of tower defense mechanics who want a unique twist on the traditional match-3 formula will appreciate the layer of depth provided by the building evolution system and the survival-based progression.
The Herald arrives every tenth night, so you should focus on merging your buildings into high-tier Crimson structures well in advance to handle his health pool.
